Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to determine the year of an LT80? Where would the VIN be located on this machine, the only # I've found is the one on the motor.

Thanks in advance!
Todd

If the sticker is missing from the front frame rail, the VIN is stamped in the metal plate that connects the top of the front frame rails (where the front fender bolts on) It is painted over, so you have to look for it. I think you can see it from underneath with the fender on though.

once you find the VIN the tenth digit will tell you what year it is just Google VIN Identifier. sorry for the late response but maybe it will help somebody else.:blah:

I think the fenders need to come off to see the VIN.
FYI: the year is determined by a letter.
Sorry, I don't know what letter represents what year.

The tenth digit or letter depending on the year, will tell you the year of the vehicle. It probably is a letter in this case unless it is 01 or newer. They are as follows: 1987-H, 1988-J, 89-K, 90-L, 91-M, 92-N, 93-P, 94-R, 95-S, 96-T, 97-V, 98-W, 99-X, 2000-Y, 01-1. etc.... after 01 they go in numerical order for the year. Note that they do not use I, O, Q, U and Z, to keep people from getting confused. Hope this helps!:)

I just looked, you may be able to see the VIN w/o removing the fenders. It's stamped on the front of the frame support.

HMMMMM...Just got a 01 off of ebay last night that is a 2000..
LOL.:D
