My quad is a pain in the *** to get going in the cold weather. I have removed the choke have a 42 pilot and 158 main. Any ideas to help it start easier?

put the choke back on would be an obvious solution. But if you want to leave it off adjust the air/fuel screw or put in an even larger pilot.

From what many dealers i have talked to and from what i heard on here...many of the Hondas are cold starting machines to begin with anyways with or without the choke...correct me if i am wrong.

You are correct most are cold blooded.

Cold blooded as hell!

I've got to give mine a good 10-15 minutes before I start romping on it. It takes at least 5 minutes before it idles at a steady rate.

pump the throttle a couple times then try starting it

when the last time u checked ure valves if the valves get on the tighter side that can also cause hard starting

Never have? Is this difficult to do? I had the bike serviced once and the did the valves but that was a year and a half ago.

not hard use that good ol search button and there should be some good threads on valve adjustents , but if u dont feel comfortable doing it take it to ure dealer should cost any more than 100 bucks

x3 or 4 or 5 on the cold blooded here,...

Heck, it can be 80 degrees outside and mine still takes a good 5 minutes to idle nicely.

I tried to adjust the idle up just enough to stay running while its cold, but then when it does warm up, its practically screaming.

So, I just live with the cold blooded nature of the beast, and deal with it till it warms up.

I was going to mention the same. When valves get out of adjustment, it will get harder to start. You should notice it starting a good bit easier once the valves are readjusted.
