Anyone here ever shot a m16?

well today my dad freind owns a m16 the older model so its full auto, becasue the military now makes them only in 3 round burst, and let me tell you full auto is crazy, 30 round clip in 4 seconds, but has anyone on this site ever shot one before?

Never shot an actual Colt M-16, but we do have an AR-15....not that it counts for this thread :p

Awesome shooting gun though, extremely accurate with just the "iron sights".

Here's what the .223 does to a 1/4 inch steel plate target at 20 yards. The large spot with the paint blasted off of it was what I did with my Beretta 92 FS 9mm just for reference. Barely put a dent in it :eek2:

haha nice i got some ar-15's to but the m16 was crazy, i got some vid of me and my dad and my friend shooting it, and of him taking a VC bunker lol, awsome gun but expensive to run

never shot one of those but i shot a 44 mag today! it was crazy! it kicks big time. awesome and fun gun to shoot tho

i've shot a M 16 back when i was in ROTC in high school, pretty fun

i had more fun shooting my best friends dad (sheriff of our county) AR-15, the thing is sighted in up to 600 yards i find that hard to believe but it does shoot really nice, we were at a range shooting 100 m and i was pretty accurate

ar 15s are real fun guns. the stocks on those guns soak up so much recoil its not even funny.

We got two Colt AR-15s. Never liked how they felt but they do shoot.:p I'd choose the M-14 or M-1 over them.:macho

carried an m-16 with a m203 grenade launcher when I was in the Navy.We qualified at 200 yards(open sights).Look at alot of the competition shooting and alot of the top shooters have switched over to the ar-15 or other varieties of the ar-15.I have an ar-15 with a Wilson bull barrel and I will tell you it is a tack driver.I have read articles where guys are shooting 600 yards no problem with the ar-15

I just bought my ar lower and im starting the build i cant wait to get this sucker built. I also bought a Ruger LCP and a s&w .38 special for my girl, all today, gun shows get expensive quick lol. :D

i was fortunate enough to be able to shoot one its crazy how fast you go through ammo and how much the barrel rises while shooting i destroyed a pumpkin up it was great fun.

It's all body position. Watch my vid and the one strnge posted. If you are squared up in a fighting stance nose over toes (ballast forward) in a comfortable position with the rifle mounted right, you can dump a mag into a fist-sized knot at 10 yards easily. More of a classic SMG position as opposed to the old rifleman position.

little off topic but im working as a govt contractor in norther iraq right now and on july 4th i was on a mt top out post base and they let me fire the 50cal. Shot over a valley into another mt. Just pressed down on the butterfly like trigger and let it eat. Will never forget the feeling of total power, sound and feeling in my hands and arms.

Yeah Ive shot an M16, well it was an carbine (M4A1/XM177). Yes its fun, but try a AK47 with 100 round drum, more fun. Lower rate of fire so its more contolable and has more punch. As far as the first video its not an M16 or M4 its a HnK M416, from the looks of it.

I got to play with all kinds of guns when I was an Infantry soldier.

M16A1....that's the full auto

M16A2....3 round burst.

T.O.W (4000 yard range....that's a long ways off)


I took an AK47 off an Iraq soldier and carried it for the rest of the mition until I had to turn it in. ( I liked it so much I bought one when I got home.)

If you want to see the baddes @$$ gunt there is then watch a Vulcan.....20mm and it makes a humming sound when fired.......now that's fast.
