It seems no matter how much it is fattened up, my YFZ still has a hearty "Popping" when I let off on the throttle. Not much difference whether it is warm or cold. WTF? Anyone? Is this a lean or fat condition? No air leaks in the exhaust. Do they just do this?

Deceleration popping is usually a sign of a lean condition. Simply adjusting you airscrew open will usually correct this. If that doesen't do it you may need a bigger pilot jet.

Sometimes an airleak around your carb or exhaust can cause this same problem. If adjusting your pilot circuit doesn't fix the popping, check all of your carb boots and exhaust fittings for leaks.

One last thing. The FCR carb on your YFZ has what is refered to as an ACV or air cut valve. This is the tiny diaphragm behind the little cover with two screws on your carb. This is intended to richen your pilot circuit. Sometimes it can make jetting the pilot circuit a pain. If you continue to have problems you may want to block your ACV and install a bigger pilot.
