Definitely a good runner here and it doesn't have a power valve either. I thought the pit crew did an awesome job tweaking that timing for the improved No. 6 run in just under 8 minutes. The torque was awesome as well as I've seen some powervalve 350's in the lower 30's on torque. I couldn't believe the 44mm carb we tried didn't do a thing on this bigger motor. I thought for sure it would want more carb.

Johan, just thought I would update the post after today's dyno pulls. It's kinda funny looking back how we didn't like the Lectron, now it has the bigger one! Thanks for coming by today and all those you have sent my way. I can't wait to see the times you and Jim can put down with the motors.

Not sure if this is your wifes or your duner 310. Here the runs from that motor.

Hey Robert what size lectron and fuel did you end up putting on the 370? Mid 70's is about as good as a 370 gets.

lol if you ask the wife its hers....
thats a 310 40.5 kehin, trx 5, esr air box elim, pump gas, dune port motor

thanks again robert for your hard work into my set up, i couldnt be happier. As it stands its a 363cc on alky. the size of the lectron is a secert ! somewhere in the 4o's:D

His info is listed a couple posts back.

No offense, but what are you talking about? Ever had your quad on a dyno before? Those are very solid numbers for a dune ported 310 on pump gas. Wonder what the porting is like on that stock cylinder on Macdizzy? Wonder how much compression it has? Wonder how narrow the powerband is? What is the actual displacement? OOF drag pipe? Running well over 50 rwhp for a setup like Johann's 310 IS impressive. Dyno's are humbling pieces of equipment. Bob at RB Racing does great work. Post up your own info and dyno sheets some time.

also, he wasnt specific on what was done to it. just basic info.

another thing. i run an XC bike so big hp numbers dont mean a thing.

Good link. Sweet info. Also, even though you "run" xc (run or actually race?), I think it's a little stretch to say hp doesn't mean a thing.

Morse250r's 310 is a rather mild example. Dune port on pump gas making 53 rwhp? Come on. That's healthy.

first. i dont race anymore. but, i live in the NE and it is XC style terrain. the H,p. numbers are irrelevant. a stock 250r cylinder is plenty fast. its more important that the bike is properly set-up to be consistent.

My first dyno pull on my puma was 62hp just like it came from my builder. I played with it for a long time and the best run was 76hp on gas. Took nearly 2 years to get it there.

I have seen 3 different dyno runs of 96-98hp on the puma with alky. The out of frame puma pipes make about 3-4 more hp than the inframe does.

That's pretty good Derby, you're must have got one of the first Puma's? It's not as simple as some make it to get into the 70's. Going to alky and that other pipe you'll be in the 80's for sure. I would think the 96-98 hp guy has put in some serious tuning time and has an unlimited supply of parts to try. This motor posted here got just over 70 on gas at first, this time it was alky for the 75, and yes it was about 2 years later.

It's interesting that they used a model 150 dyno for their pulls. After looking it up because the software looks totally outdated, those were for motorcycles so it may not be apples to apples. It might show more power because they likely adapted a single rear wheel set up to do the testing? jcs003, If you are ever in MI, stop by and I'll let you have a free dyno run for your 250r.

Started out with a 41.5 tmxx. Then went to a 44 lectron and then what ended up staying on the bike is a 48HV lectron. I sold the puma motor and am starting over with a new puma. I was going to have to use a different bore and stroke than my previous puma and I could not see busting up a $750 crank to just rebuild with another $500 so it just made sense to start over from scratch with new cylinder/head/crank.

Morse have you ridden the bike since you dynoed and changed the carb?

I'm not too familiar with dyno types but i believe its a dynojet.

Here's a video of his dyno (pdxbigfoot's old R)

It's hard to tell what brand by the video. The software is not dynojet and it appears to be a single wheel dyno.
