lets say im driving in 4th gear and i just press the clutch and come to a stop, if i hit my shift lever all the way down it will only stay in 2nd gear sometimes, i have to engage the clutch a bit so i can hear a click then i put it into first. could it be due to the oil i used? castrol act evo semi synthetic 10w40? thanks guys.

Mine does it occasionaly. Its just worn parts not acting right. Nothing to worry about though.

Its mostlikely the clutch basket and inner hub being worn. they will get little grooves worn in them over time which wont let the clutch plates slide and disengage all the way.

would it be worth it to replace those worn parts? thanks for the help

The only real way to cure it is with another basket that is not worn.

You would also need a new inner hub. This is what the steel plates ride on and it will also get grooves in it. The only way to know for sure is to open it up and look.
