I know this has been answered before but I can't find it. When the quad gets warm it starts breaking up. It sure looks like it is jetted right. Cleaned the carb numerous times. Opened the gap up on the plug and that has helped.

little help.

sounds like a igniton coil and if it is stock I would replace it, or jetting is off

what about stator? and lets not forget about those cranky little crank seals that give us a fit every once in a while. does choke ''ON" help anything?

Brand new quad less than 2 hours on it guys.

Is your choke sticking? What color is the plug after its been ran? You want a light brown color about like a cardboard color any more would be to lean. If it is black it is way rich IMO just trying to help.

I had the sme problem. Try it with the key in different setting. Mine breaks up if the key is all the way forward, but runs fine on first click.

I know you say the plug looks good but it sounds like it is rich, either jetting or weak ignition could make the rich condition but both should show up on plug as rich. is this condition under full throttle only ? If jetting does not help it then I think you have a wiring short some where (switch, tether, harness etc) bypass harness and give it a try.

Got to be something like that because it probably doesn't have 5 hours of time on it. Have relanded the ground wire to the case but will check other connections.

Thanks Marc

you opened the gap on the plug? How much? I don't recall what the gap should be (hopefully someone will chime in), but I know I was surprised by how tight it was.

Mine did the same thing. It didn't have much run time on it either. I took the coil off another bike an it ran fine. i would give that a try. Do you know anyone that might let you take on off their bike to try?
