Are the oem cranks and rods altready trued and ready to install?
My 04 just lost its rod bearing. So if I get one I just need to know if I can remove my old crank and just put the new one in and not have to check or set any clearances. Plus the new cranks come with the newer bearing right?

The updated crank comes with the right bearing and seal but you still need the left bearing and seal.
To do it right you need oil pump gears, oil pump pickup, and oil cooler also because of metal debris!

cheapway order factory rebuild kit and rebuild it yourself and true it up. I like falicon knife edge rod kit, but get your wallet.

Do u have a part number for the factory rebuilt kit?

Kind of adding to my first question. So on the factory rod and crank replacement you have to true the crank before installing, but with a hod rods crank and rod it states it is ready to install so you would not need to do anything to it except for the right and left bearings? Which is better, stock or hotrods?

For the money the hot rods good true crank or as true as a factory crank oem. I have used them and you dont have to waste time rebuilding the stock one and then having to true it and balance it. I also did not have any problems with the hot rod.

The OEM ones are ready to drop in and go. make sure you get the updated one, it isn't listed anywhere, but that's the one you want, do some searching, I'm sure you'll find it. I can dig it up for you when I get back home on sunday night or monday morning. It is cheaper than the old ones anyways from Honda. I would go Honda myself, I am not a fan of Hotrods products. If you do decide to go Hotrods for whatever reason, use the OEM bearings. We had a Hotrod crank spin the bearing with less than 3 hours of run time.

I would appreciate the number as I would just as soon stay with honda. Just do not want to deal with trueing it, never done it but sure I could if I had to.

I've done 3 450R engines with Honda cranks with no problems. They are drop in cranks. Here is the part # for the updated crank 13090-HP1-315. It comes with the right side bearing, a collar and the right side seal. You have to tap the collar on the right side of the crank. It is easily done with a deep socket. I forget what size, but it is a common one and you should have it. You just have to order the left side bearing and the seals and gaskets. If the engine had metal shavings in it I would replace the oil cooler as well. I would also replace the cam chain. I can post a complete list of the Honda part #s for everything you need if you want.

there you have it, and I agree with everything else he said. Also a tip for putting that collar on or any bearing seating surface for that matter. For the collar though, put the crank in the freezer over night, and I set the collar in front of a portable ceramic heater for 20 minutes. Be careful cause its hot, but it more or less slid right on the crank after that without any hammering.

I would like to add, that I've always reused my oil cooler, I just flush it out with a transmission flusher to ensure it's clean. I then put it in a solution and let it soak and blast it with compressed air. Always make sure it's spotless and doesn't have metal shavings coming out of it. The tranny flusher does a nice job of that.
