if your talking about the front suspension geomatrey the 250r and 400ex are almost identical.

They are close but not the same. I've owned both and the 250R does handle and turn better than the 400EX.

Could this be due to ride height?

No cause they can be set or were set at the same ride height. I think it has more to do with spindles and weight distribution. They are 2 different animals

o ok, i have no comparison i have never ridden a 250r, i know that they are supposed to be amazing though. My quad out handels all my friends an i think it has to do with how low it is thats why i asked.

so then what all of the 250r front end can be put on the 400ex?? to get the 250r geometry on the 400ex??

all parts will interchange i have 250r a arms on my 400 right now because my old 400 ball joints were shot all i did was change the mounting bushings. the shocks will interchange also.

It has more to do with how the 250R frame is constructed, the suspension mounting points etc. than just the suspension parts themselves. You can't put 250r suspension components on a 400 and all of a sudden have full 250 geometry, it doesn't work like that. It is part of the design of the chassis that gives a quad certain handling characteristics. The 400 and 250R are definitely similar, but not the same. The 250R is slightly better in my opinion, but the 400 geo is still darn good in comparison to other quads.

well i would say the difference is the weight the r has alot lighter motor.
