I am working on a 1997 400fw. I have little history of the machine.
When I began working on it, it appeared not to want to go into neutral thus there was no power to the start-up system.
On disassembly the two piece of the shift rod needed to be replaced.
On reassembly it started right up and all gears working: then the whole thing started to happen again.
It died then appeared not to go into neutral. When I would bypass the neutral/rev switch it would started and run with good shifting. So I replaced the neutral/rev switch but this has not changed anything.
Can anyone help me on this?
