'99 400ex.

My 400 is probably getting new rings soon and I have a question. I was told that I could buy a 416 piston and just have my stock cylinder wall "honed" out (which I'm prolly gonna have to do anyways) and the 416 piston will fit. Has anyone ever run the 416 with the stock cylinder?

It will need to be bored and honed. I don't think you're gonna hone 2 mm's.

boring takes off a lot more of the cylinder sleeve while hone just pretty much cleans it up,minimal material removed from the sleeve.
