Has anyone figured out a way to use any type or brand of quick fill with the stock apex tank?

I made one for my sons Apex I made it out of PVC pipe. and a metal ball valve. If you use a plastic ball valve the gas makes it swell and it wont turn. I think I used a 2 foot piece of pipe and reduced down to the valve and then a small piece after that. I thind a 4 inch round piece. at the other end I put on a screw cap. Just take the cap off right before you use it
