Im looking for a new clutch lever and perch to replace the stock. I plan to get rid of the useless E-brake.

I hear ASV is really good.

How do the short levers treat you people? LIke it?

I run ASV c5 levers. Theyre really nice, but I've had problems with installation on both. The clutch perch came with a way too short hot start cable and the brake lever bushings were way too fat. The hot start isnt on a 400ex though, so you don't have to worry.

ASV F3 PRO series "shorty" I like the pull seems smooth and easy adjustments... looks trick to!!!

Can the hot start be removed from the perch if I buy one with it?

Which ever clutch lever you get, make sure it has the rubber boot cover. That helps your cable last longer.

Right now I'm using the ASV F3 Shorty standard. But I'm selling it to get the C5 pro.

Why's that?

So can you remove the hotstart from the perch and run it without problems or other needed parts?

A 400ex does not have a hot start. Only kickstart mx bikes and quads have hotstarts.

I know that. Im asking if you remove it from the perch and just use the clutch and perch it came with on my 400

If you buy one for a 400EX there won't even be a hot start lever.. (I am pretty sure)

Also, does anyone have and pics of their ASV shorty's?

Thanks! Do you have any more pics? I kinda want to see them as if I was standing on the quad and maybe if I was looking at it from the side and the front.. Because I usally only use 2/3 fingers on both and the extra 2-4 inches are just there, taking up space, and are asking to be bent..

Lol I buy everything from this site and eBay (isn't it the best! Like an online Walmart/Thrift Store! haha)

I never relaly paid that much attention.. If it does have the hot start, don't worry about it, plus it looks real awesome!!!

I am tring to install AVS levers on my 01 400ex. There is no hot start, but the instructions say to use the perch off a CRF. Has anyone heard of this?

yes you can remove the hot start lever but the main housing will still be there as it is cast into the perch

Is there a big noticeable improvement on the clutch pull with a ASV or other high price clutch and perch as opposed to the one on ebay that comes with the block off and cluthc/perch for $26

I feel like the money could be spent on other parts and have bigger improvements.

What do you guys think?
