i just have a few questions about race fuel, first of all i got a 426 in my ex and was wondering what is the highest octane i can and should put in it and some say it gives no noticeable power, is this true, and about how much does it cost?

it all depends on your compression ratio and timing. as long as your not getting spark knock just run 93

I get 110 race fuel from a local sunoco station and its 7.99/gallon

It was a new engine i put it in, so i did not have anything to compare to, i have only ridden it with the 110. From what i hear from others you can tell for sure.

I use Citgo 114 it is $5 and change a gallon. All race gas does is make it so it doesn't knock. Seach and you will find a bajillion threads on this.

higher octane doesnt really give you more power. It is for higher comp engines because it burns slower and cooler to eliminate spark knock. If you put it in a low compression engine it can actually make it slower. The other bennefit of race fuel is it burns cleaner and its more consistant than pump gas. what comp do you have?

Well said, somebody that actually knows what they are talking about.People seem to assume race gas is like nitrous or something, they think it'll make their stock motor sooo much better:confused: :ermm:

its a 426 by wiseco so im sad to say not sure what the comp is and i never figured it to even give you much hp heck maby 2 at most maby unless it was nitromethane then i could go to the moon :D
