Registration is $18 at the DMV, you get a card and a sticker like a boat. Insurance, shop around. I paid $18 a month through NJrider.com

When I had my atv insured, it was $100/year. Registration was something like $20. The difficult part was getting the paperwork that dmv wanted. The Mso wasn't good enough, they wanted a notorized bill of sale, didn't have the leain release, even though the bill of sale was notorized as having no lein on it. More phone calls, finally got everything they wanted. My dirtbike getting registered was another one too, leain release wasn't good enough, another company bought the lein and release was a different company name. I got my plate, but it had a lean holder on it. Went back to dmv, registration revoled. Went to the dealer and got the company that issued the lein for a release, different address, dmv didn't like it. I got the manager of the dmv to look over the stuff, after over an hour of phone calls(to the companies that issued the lein release), I finally got the title and registration w/o a lein holder.

I got a trx250r, tried to get it registered, insurance was good, bill of sale wasn't. I tried to get a title issued to me, no dice. I gave up on the buerocratts. I got a ktm450exc, tried to get it registered, insurance good, they faxed the mso to trenton to get approved, Mso wasn't good. The bill of sale fromt the dealer wasn't good enough for them to register it. I had the dealer that sold the bike get me another mso with what dmv wanted, a manufacturer name in big letters on the mso, everything else was the same, Again fax the mso, wait for it to get approved, this time I got my title and plates. Getting things registered in Pa is much easier, don't need a title or mso for an atv. Need insurance, a rubbing of the vin and how much you paid for the atv. They run the number and if its not stolen, you get a registration and plate for it(not street legal).

I have 2 dirtbikes registered, thats it. I can't deal with the hassle of trying to register 20 yr old atvs, that the mso for it is long lost, then a lonestar frame(never got an mso) and then a custom made frame(no vin on it), also to add to it, the insane cost of insurance for a 3 wheeler(almost $600/yr), yes, each. I have 2 -3 wheelers and my insuracne company doesn't want anything to do with the lsr frame.

Sure you can go out and ride, but get caught by the cops and enjoy them impounding your quad.

I never have problems, but the are I go to i kept a secret for certain reasons.

In NJ if you atv is impounded for any reason, you need registration and insurance to get it out. Hense the reason why my dirtbikes reg/ins are the only bikes to touch anything possibly illegal. Notice the atv's I have and you will see why its so hard/expensive to register and insure them. I don't know PA law, Ido believe they are alot more lack. As of right now in NJ, its illegal ride your atv anywhere except private land(w/ permission/yours). Thats not much riding at all, another reason why my dirtbikes get most of the riding.

About 5 1/2 from Hackensack towing a 7,000 lb trailer. Haven't been there yet on my quad just my rock buggy. Once I-99 is completed that'll cut it down to 5 or maybe a little less.

It's a nice spot, worth the trip

i live in north jersey (passaic co) and there are alot of places to ride trails, i can think of at least six good spots off the top of my head. as far as legality issues, i didn't ask any one, there for no one said i couldn't. but i have been riding these spots for about a year and never been bothered. These spots are close secrets of me and my friends, and is probably why they are still available to ride at with out getting caught. there are spots out there, you just have to find them.

Used to go to the pits in south jersey now I just ride PA, got sick of running from the cops and hiding my truck in the bushes. Only time I ride in NJ these days is for the AGP races.

i don't care who rides in the spots i go to, because it's not like its my property anyway. i just don't want to post it up on the web and have all of north jersey there the next weekend if you know what i mean. I have no problem showing spots to people but i will not give them out on the web.

If your riding where i think you are in West Milford, i got busted there last fall and haven't been back since. State police got us while loading. Just a warning

No not nearly as brutal as quad cross. It's more like GNCC. They take place mostly in sandpits down the shore. It's part sandpit, part wooded sections, and part feilds. Check out the AGP site there's pictures.

I was about to sell out completely this year due to nowhere to ride but my friend told me to come to a race with him and now I'm in the market for a bigger bike to race next season.

Tires, maybe a steering stabalizer. Most importantly a Camelback and comfortable riding gear.

the last 2 items are most important for any type of woods riding. I can't even imagine woods riding without a camel pack, it goes everywhere with me(except the mx track). I did the last race, I think it was $50. You need a ama/atva membership also, if you don't, thats $39.

nice thats not bad at all.
i signed up for the 16-19c class it think thats right. oo how long to the races last.

CD400EX

It's $40 per race and you need an AMA member card which is $40 for the whole year. There is also a $10 entrance fee which goes to the local fire department who volunteer to support the races. Bring some extra cash for the lunch truck at the track, it's actually pretty good food.

The races are 90 minutes long, usually 4 or 5 laps depending on how long the track is. The toms river track was 7-8 miles depending on how Dale layed out the 1st woods section, and the LBI track was 10 miles. While they were both great tracks, persoanlly I prefered the LBI track even though I only raced there once and wadded my bike into a tree halfway through (thats racing).

There is an AGP forum on here, also visit thequadbuilder.net or the AGP site itself. Dale is easy to get a hold of and very helpful.

See you at the line in 09
