So my friend was working with the locknut and he ended up turning the motor over while it was in gear, BUT in the opposite way the drivetrain goes. This messed something up in my tranny because:

1. when off and in any gear with the clutch in, the gears/wheels will not spin.

2. Shifting is VERY rough, and makes weird noises.

3. there is this sound from 2nd to 5th that when it is engaged and rolling, it sounds like the chain is hitting something plastic but is not.

4. It does not get into gear on every shift; down or up shift.

This really ticks me off because I thought he knew what he was doing since he has had atv's most of his life and works on his own stuff...

What is wrong here???? Sounds big money and time.

im not sure what is wrong, but it shouldnt have messed anything up rolling it backwards like that. It has to have something to do with the shift forks or something.

I switched the clutch cable to and Im sure I did that right. I tried having the clutch cable tightened all the way to see if it was no engaging all the way but that wasnt the problem I guess.

Before all of this lucknut and especially the turning of the motor, everything was fine.
