It boils down to what you want from a nerf bar, some have great quality but others lack the customer service and construction of the item itself and some are plain expensive for the average rider. Pro Armor,AC,Blingstar,Roll Design, are all good brands so there all to be considered even the lower line ones DG,Tusk,UM,Motorsport,Rock.

Mounting positions should be considered also some have mounting clamps and others have the mounting on the motor mounts.

Just my 0.02 worth

gonna have to agree on that one. their owners usually back them up because they dont wanna see their stuff as junk. tusk are cheap for a reason because they are cheaply made. yes they are functional and work but they dont take abuse which is why higher end are better. Pro Armor are nice and are real strong, AC bend easier but seem sturdier when mounted. Almost like everything its hard to find something that just dominates for everything. IMS ROLL is a beastly setup if you have the cash

haha....dude....come over to my house....let me pounce on your nerfs a couple of good times (if that)....if they don't fold up like a pancake...I'll buy you a set of FAT DADDY high dollar nerfs! If they do pancake (and I'm confident)....then you can go buy your own new nerfs

Well, hell! How could he pass up that deal? If you DON'T destroy his nerfs, you'll provide him with different ones he doesn't need. If you do - you won't buy him anything. What a deal!

I have some regular ac's and love them. I had some DG's before but I keep breaking them at the foot peg. Rath racing just started making some for 400ex's and they look bad ***. They have some really nasty foot pegs. Plus Rath makes netted heel guards to go along with them. Their a little high priced though.

Thanks for all of the input. I think I will go with Pro Armor Fat Peg w/ heel guards.

Do they stick out past the tires much? (on a 400ex)

Can you guys that have the Pro Armor fat peg nerfs and the Moose nerfs post pics please? I am interested as well and wanted to know if either stick out past the wheels? Since they both seem to be priced about the same, I would be interested in which one seems to fit the quad better. Thanks.

^ Im with this guy...Im stuck between the two.

Pro Armors. The only thing you have to worry about is the heel guards cracking.

Pro armor makes nice nerfs. I have tusk nerfs and ya they're cheap, but unless you freestyle or race what are the chances of wrecking nerf bars? A three wheeler ran into mine and the paint scraped off but they didn't fold up at all.

can you post some side shots of your bike with the green air shrouds ?

Id like to see how the shrouds are mounted and what brand they are.

Both sides would be great.........thanks

I've got the AC Racing Pros on my bike. I wouldn't say they are better than any other brand, but I like them.

i race and have had tusk all season and no problems. a lot stronger than my DGs were. i have ever owned Pro Armor but my buddie hd a set on his 450r and his ltr 450 and hates them, keeps breaking the heal gaurds off and bent them real easy. even having problems wit the peg parts bending. like i said i have never owned the but the guys i race with will never buy them again. i know tusk aint the best and they aint got heal guards but so far they have had a lot of abuse from me and my friend who has a 400 also used them for a few races. and hes about 6'5 and 200+ and never bent a thing. the only thing on them are some dents from bouncin off of other peoples rims when i was racing

I'll post some pics later I forgot yesterday. Mine are mounted off of the front plastic bracket with an L bracket and on the bottom they are mounted to a mount on the frame. They are CDB Motorsports but I cut the rear bracket off.

I went ahead and bought the pro armor fat pegs. They look great now that i finally got them one. The mounting piece on the right side didn't line up right with bolts so i had to file them bigger. After that it went on. then up by the a-arm a piece was hitting so grinded it down. Took a while to get on but they seem strong thanks for the pictures and comments. My friend got same nerfs but for raptor and sent his mounting brackets back for same problem i had.
