big bore with stock bore pipe?

I'am pretty set on getting a 350 pv topend shortly. leaning towards a ct unported cylinder kit. i see that a few companys recommend a big bore pipe with cylinders for cooling. I have a esr 5 pipe right now. How critical is this. I'am going to run a 38pwk for now. what's your thoughts? ct for the price 1400-150 for porting=1250. lrd's price is 1600 something with porting?

well i have ran all types big bores great for mid and top but i put on a Curtis mx standard bore shifted my power down low but ran great so yes its fine

thanks, i am going to stick with my esr 5 and run a ct 350 pv.
