I wouldnt put an aftermarket rev limiter on a stock engine..its pointless.

I agree with a stock 300ex you will get no performance gains from CDI box. You might look into a good high flow filter, a jet kit and remove the airbox lid. This will gain you performance for about the same cost as the cdi box

On the 450r's there's a green wire mod. it's said that the stock 450r box is one of the best you can have you just have to modify it. on trx450r.org you can do a search for green wire mod, or post a thread and ask around. If this mod works for your quad also you can raise the level of the rev limiter. and it's a free mod all you have to do is cut and seal one wire going to the cdi box, save'n you a $100!!!

if u know how to ride and know the limits of ur bike then u can do what ive done in the past have the stock CDI drilled out. this means no rev limit at all just dont blow up ur engine. i had a 330 built out the a hole and it wouldnt run with the stock box so i had it drilled out by a local shop here in KY aka rocky ridge racing he knows his stuff and helped design the 09 yfz450R frames search it its on the forum
