How did the switch to the Lifan go, what kinda obstacles did you run into, were you happy with the motor?

It was a piece of cake. I made the upper mounts removeable for easier r&r but it's not required. The little motor is a quality piece for sure. Runs great.

Hey Jaybird, on the wiring of the Lifan Do I still need the key switch, neutral light, and kill switch (factory) or can all that be done away with?

No, I got rid of all that stuff and trimmed about 75% of the Typhoons harness out. I hooked up a dirt bike kill button and a tether kill switch and that was it. I had to put the Typhoons engine harness plug on the Lifan, the connector that came on the Lifan was different and wouldn't plug into the Typhoons harness. I think there is a diagram on T-bolts website that shows all you need to make it run.

Hey Jaybird,

Hows it going? Did you already find a blaster? If not, theres one for sale on Yamaha classifieds on this site, (Blue-one). It's pretty close to your neck of the woods. We were going to purchase it, but shipping cost and being the time of year, "not happening". I talked to the owner, and he was going to try to ebay it one more time before parting it out. I told him that if he parted it, I would buy a few high end parts from him as spares for us. We picked up a race ready blaster out here on the westcoast, "Sweet- ride", only thing left somewhat stock, was seat-pan.

Yea, we picked up a mostly stock 03, it has 18" Kenda Klaws, aluminum wheels nerfs, and the usual bolt on stuff. The one for sale is nice for sure. I'm getting ready for axle, arms, and shocks.
