Um, this quad doesn't really belong in this section (the TRX250 and TRX250R are radically different) but we'll help you out as best as we can.

As a general rule, you are going to have 4 wires coming out of your stator, but the colors are often different, so I can't tell you which ones yours are. We might be able to narrow it down, though. Do you have a multimeter?

One wire will be for lights, battery, and general power, often called the lighting coil.

One wire is specifically for spark power, called the exciter coil.

Two wires together are the spark timing. It's a very small signal, it doesn't have enough power to actually fire the spark, which is why you need the spark power wire. It's also very critical and sensitive, which is why it has TWO wires instead of one, it has it's own positive and negative, it doesn't use chassis ground. This is called the pulse coil.

That's not necessary. Rule #1 at the bottom of every page.

Consider this your warning.

This makes issues a little harder.

There are still a few TRX250 owners around, but the chances of finding one that will help you are pretty slim, and the chances of finding one in THIS section is almost zero.

THIS (http://books.google.com/books?hl=en&id=g_DAZA5RnlEC&dq=Fourtrax+250&printsec=frontcover&source=web&ots=N7U2lEAjWT&sig=VJ15Rd3WWuEO4rkqwMDGpUY1H1A&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=7&ct=result#PPP1,M1) link might help you a little bit, it's a few pages from the service manual. It covers several different models, so be sure that the information you are looking at is for your model . Wiring diagrams, especially wire colors, are usually very different between models. This link is only a partial, I think the pages you need are missing.

For the complete manual, you'd have to order it. It would be about $30 from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Honda-Shaft-Drive-Maintenance-All-Terrain/dp/0892874295) but you can find them elsewhere, including your local dealership or shop (though they probably won't have it in stock, they would have to special-order it).
