what would be the easiest way to lose some weight off my 400 pound 300? anything not needed for mx...

kickstart conversion, take out reverse gear from the tranny, aftermarket frame... different engine? lol

sorry to say but there isn't much. these things are just tanks.

Ok, well I can think of a few other things.
Plastic gas tank
simplified wiring
aluminum motor mounts
carbon fiber tie rods
aluminum battery box
aluminum shifter
Cut off brackets that are not being used
i think hardcor hubs are aluminum
400ex spindles (aluminum)
use ss braided brake lines, get rid of that funky brake tube and brackets
use zip ties to hold brake line and not fancy clamps
ditch the air box

That all i can think of at the moment

Um a axle is more weight (barley),a swingarm is not aluminum except a 450r or a 250r but that would be illegal for racing. bumpers and grap bars are common and he also already has then so i didnt put them up

not so fast..We spoke to I beleive his name was Chuck at the AMA home office about this class specificly..My nephews moving up to this class this upcomming season..The stipulations regarding the frame where..

Could not change the integrity of the frame..To me that means to weaken the frame by cutting out important frame sections to lighten it..

brackets are ok if they bolted on...like the shock relocation kits for the front..

no welding brakets to the frame like a rear link bracket for a 250r or 450r swinger..But a no link swinger or a bolt on rear link braket is ok..If a front bolt on shock relocation kit is ok,why wouldnt a rear link bracket be ok..

engine must match frame of the same production model..nothing was said of swinger or a-arms..

gussets where ok to be welded on frame..

i don't even wanna talk about what we already have into it, and we're putting more into it now1 :eek2: but heck if it wins races:D

The graphics are from www.goforitgraphics.com

they can make you any graphics kit you want in any design. but i ordered these for a 400ex and custom trimmed them to fit.

i know brett, i raced at english town with you...

But, 300's are pretty heavy, and if you could lose any weight off them they would be alot faster...
