I'm a little confused about those carbon fiber hoods you can get from Quadtech and Featherlite (I think that's the name).

First, do they only fit the race plastics?

Second, for the ones with the scoops, are you supposed to cut away the underlying plastic or just part of it or what? I'm not sure about how the whole thing goes together and Quadtech didn't bother answering their phone today or calling me back, so they weren't much help.

Any input?

the quad tech hood is alot nicer in my opinion, but the feather carbon is cheaper i think. A guy i know sells fibre glass hoods molded almost exactly like the quad techs and sells them way cheaper. email him fibeindustries@hotmail.com.

I have the Quad tech one. You need to cut out the lights,,,,,,,and then cut a hole in the center plastic to let air through..........but you dont cut out the whole center ,,,,,,,some plastic needs to stay to give some integrity and strentgh to the nose........

mine was 300 with shipping...and it cdomes with very simple insructions.......(...just so you know);)

I hoped it was just the pic. The rest is straight and then it looks like its bent...camera do weird things sometimes. I have one pic where my subframe looks like its bent 2 inches to the left, and its really perfectly straight.

Hey Chris. You payed 300 (including shipping) for your hood? I think you got ripped man. The scoops are like 190 (right?). So that means you payed $110 to ship a small piece of plastic? Or did you have it overnighted or somethin?

get a FIBE industries hood scoop man, the only way to go now! cheaper than Quad tech and looks ALOT better than feather carbon. FiBE hood scoops are made out of very strong fiberglass and they cost around 130. heres a pic of a fibe hood scoop.
