Im looking for a 4 barrel carb that flows 650cfm for my F100.

Right now im running a Barry Grant Speed Demon, with mechanical secondaries and no choke. This carb offers NO fuel economy, horrible starting in cold weather (duh), and a list of other greivances.

I would love a more streetable carb, something with a choke, better fuel economy (street/strip) and a relatively simple operation.

Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking just a classic Holley double pumper, but im open to anyones suggestion.

Thanks,
Justin

Heads (ported), Intake(ported), Cam, long tube headers, 175 shot of spray, forged crank, rods, pistons...

The works basically. Its just a little 306 though.

What type of heads, intake, and cam profile though. People dont realize, but sometimes even a 650 can be overkill on these sbf's

Yup! Hell I have a 450 holley tunnel ram carb on my 305 in my pickup, if he stated the compression ratio it'd help out some as well, I'd say if you wanted to downgrade carburators a 450-540 maybe even 600 range would be more then enough, being small cube motors with the small carburators they become little reponsive sob's..

It being hard to start in the cold is just in the tuning of the carb, what color are your plugs? I'd say if you worked some magic on your adjustments it'd run just fine. I have my truck to the point where if its 20 outside it'll start and run as long as I give it a few seconds of throttle play, after that purs like a kitten.

What metering rods do you have in it?

My brother has a 750 on his 351/396 and it still goes lean up top. Low and mid range run pretty good. I think he's going efi in the future.
