quick question about tires and rims

on a utility quad the last two numbers in the tire size is whats matches up to the tire size and rim right? so if i got 25-10-12 right now and want to put on 27's then 27-10-12 would work cus the 12's is the rim size right and the 10 has to match up to?

correct me if im wrong but the middle number is the width, so it wouldn't necessarily have to match up. but yes you are correct the last 12 is the rim size so they would mount up just right for you.
