View Full Version : taking cylinder off?

Hey taking my cylinder off. Took everything off the cylinder, have taken off the 4 nuts that hold the cylinder down, and cant get the cylinder to pop off. Any suggestions?

Take a pry bar and stick under the cylinder where the exhaust bolts up. Pry up gently and it should pop loose. Try to keep it even when pulling it off and it'll slide right off...they can be a pain in the rear to get off.

no prybar!!!! Get a rubber mallet or something similar and hit the cylinder from side to side, it should pop loose.

A little bit of penetrating fluid on the alignment dowel helps when they have gotten water down in there and they have rusted.

x3 on the pry bar and x2 on the rubber mallet and pen. oil in the dowels. :cool:

Alright, thanks for all the help guys. Finally got it off moday night. with the penitrating oil and rubber mallot.
