the only reason I would part it out would be if its stolen ,that looks real nice for 500 the little bit of tlc it needs is well worth it

I would keep it

no the vin tag was removed when they put that EX subframe on it ,

buy a frame with a tag on it and weld it to yours

Dude I would definatly keep it. You have something to work with. You part it out, and you have nothing. Just my 2 cents worth.

The biggest question should be does it run? Is it rideable?

If it runs and is rideable I'd say keep it and build it up, or just use it as is.

If it's not built that great and it vibrates like crazy, then for $500 I'd say buy a 250R frame and motor and change everything over and voila you have a 250R.

If you don't care and are just looking to make a few bucks, you might be able to make decent money on it.

it actually runs pretty well and wheelies for days lots of power but lots of vibration fun though

I am with g99..., on this one put it together and let it eat, and if it has other proplems get all the parts to gether and then fix em, For me it is hard to stay motivateded on something if you can't ride it to.

That's a good idea if you're doing straight line stuff a lot. Otherwise, if you lengthen it much it's going to change the handling considerably. The 88/89 is about -1" from what you have already (assuming your swinger is stock).

These motorcycle engines are pretty much built for max performance within the riding and maintenance parameters the factory thinks the market wants in an MX bike - unlike ATV's typically which are released with more conservative power numbers. So that engine probably pulls close to or around 50hp stock with their pipe. You may just have to get used to having nice power at your disposal. :)

On the other hand vibration is hard on frames. If your hands and feet get irritated, you may want at some point down the road to build a stock TRX motor with a counterbalancer.

i've been down this road b 4. those engines will rip on a track whether its straight line, trails or mx but aint worth a dayum when ya put a load such as in sand and the vibration is intolerable even when rubber cushioned. nun the less they are fun as hell but gets old at times. especially when spoiled by a trx engine.
