will 400ex/450r front /rear aftermarket shocks fit on a 250r?

Fronts will, rears won't.

Depending on your setup, 400ex shocks will work with +2 A-arms, 450R shocks would need to use +2 as well or either will raise your front way up.

The rear - you can use an aftermarket shock but it has to be the right length and you'll have to change the clevis.

You can use a rear aftermarket 450R shock without changing it if you swap the complete rear end - there is a thread that details it.

what r the lengths of the stock shocks on the 250r? also if you know what r the stock lengths on the 400ex/450r

Stock shocks on a 250R are 15 3/4"

Stock shocks on a 400ex are somewhere between 16" to 16 1/2"

450R shocks are over 16 1/4 as well.

I know that Z400 shocks are 17"
