400EX Parts On 300EX List Em All

I want to start this thread on all the stuff that will either bolt on a 300EX from a 400EX or bolt on with modification.

List what you know, and how you did it.

i want to try a 400ex swing arm but can't find any info

and 400ex front fender
bolts on if you just drill two holes

400ex carb, you just have to put the airbox boot end that goes over the carb into boiling water for a second and then it slips right on.

also, the swingarm will bolt right on, just like a 450r swinger willl, but you need to weld a tab to the frame for the linkage.

400 a arms bolt right on also.

400 steering stem goes right in if you cut off the steering stop on the frame because its on the opposite side of the stem between the 300 and the 400.

I would half to say all of the info you are looking for is on the
(all knids of 300ex info thread ) Also there are countless pther threads with 400ex, 250r, and 450r swinger swaps. and no the 450r a-arms will not fit unless you weld new tabs on your frame.

I got 450r arms on my 300. I think its like +1.25 400 arms maybe. if I had to do it again, id probably just look for plus size 400 arms so they bolt right in. but I removed the stock font upper, and rear lower a arm mounts from the frame, bolted my a arms and everything to the mounts left on, bolted the mounts id cut off to the arms, positioned everything like I wanted and tacked it up, removed everything and welded it. I think the castor ended up pretty good. also leaving a mount in stock position for each arm I know the sides are identical.


wouldnt recommend it though with the price of used plus size 400 arms not being much.

is the plastic on that 300 closed in by the gas tank like by the front of the seat

I cant remember exactly how the 400 plastics are, but from what I remember they have a peice that goes over the tank and wraps down towards the seat a bit, just like the 300 plastics do, but it probably doesnt work with the 300 tank/400 plastics.
