Newby XX owner here. Has any one set there valve’s yet? Are they the old style screw/locking nut or do you have to use shims? Is there an idle adjustment anywhere or does the Honda PCM do all of this?

Great questions!

(let us know when you find out!)

Hey, where do you go riding at?

Looks like according to the on line parts finders that the valves have the tappet screw adjustment. That’s a relief the shim setup is a PITA, I don’t care how many OZ it adds to the valve train its better than pulling the entire cam holder to simply set valves.
I wonder about the piston, its service life? Seeing how it’s one of the pancake types with an ultra short skirt. The ones in the 450’s Honda recommends changing @ 20 or something HRS.

We ride in TN most of the time, WestPoint, and Coal creek. Sometimes out west to CO

I checked my valves at 20hrs, and they were just fine... way easier to get to than my raptor, but not as easy as the wifes V, that thing is freakin cake. Anyway, 32hrs on it now... not a prob one.

Not being a smartass, but you should get a manual for it.

I'll look in mine tonight and see.
