Well, I've gotta 04 450R carb on my 426ex and i wasnt sure where i should post this so i think ill try both the 450R section and the 400Ex section. --- So heres the problem. Over the past month, i've been having this weird problem where my carb will just start overflowwing out the drain tube. I took it apart once, cleaned it. Still same problem. I just recently took it apart, cleaned the he11 out of it. I used an entire can of carb cleaner, mostly on the bowl, but to every thing else off and cleaned it too. Even took the little 'diaphram pump' thing off the bowl and cleaned it. I put a little bit of wd-40 on the hinge of the float, thinking it could have been sticking. Well i get it back together, and it still leaks? Has anyone ran into a similar problem, or have any idea what it could be? thanks alot-

Are you sure all of the parts that belong in there are there? The only way fuel can do that is the needle and seat aren't sealing properly.

We have one doing the same thing. Nothing is stuck and nothing is binding. With the drain screw sealed, it leaks as fast as the fuel flows in. I have a feeling this happened from sticking the entire carb in the parts washer with mineral spirits. I'm guessing the solution screwed up one of the rubber seals. Still haven't had time to really figure it out, but I'm willing to be that's what it is. I accidentally put the rubber seal for the valve cover in there and it made it warp and now its too big to even fit where it belongs.

bingo-
i had washed it in our parts washer a while back, would it just recently be taking effect? also, i noticed that the bowl o-ring is massively warped/streched, but i just noticed this the other day when i took apart to clean. does carb cleaner do any damage to orings? or would it have to be from parts washer? Thanks for the help!

ohh also note- our partswasher is diesel, not mineral spirits? big difference?

Diesel can warp them as well, I learn the hard way on a GSXR, yeah 4 carbs, I was really happy when I had to replace all those "parts"
