i have handlebar mounted trailtech torch lights. they are amazing compared to stock, and they add some nice bling too.

Do not buy these. They are soo cheep. Sure there brightier than stock, but they rattle, and water just leaks in, and just ugh... not worth it.

What is the exact voltage yo can use for lights? I mean an automotive offroad would work if it was low enough wattage? Would be WAY cheaper too..

I was wondering about maybe some car fog lights there little but im not sure what voltage and all that

Well im assuming its a 12v system as the batteries are 12v for the bikes afaik.

Wiring in soem 35w or 55w lights from a car wouldnt be to hard, all ya need is a positive and a ground.

I tried to do this before with my old warrior, as soon as i plugged the lights in it started to melt my wires.

Lights were drawing too many amps for the wires. Run a higher gauge wire (fused) up to a relay and relay to the lights. Just need to use the stock wires to fire the relay. This is assuming the stator can produce enough amperage to keep the motor and the lights running...400ex's produce 9 amps or so IIRC

9 amps is a good bit, a 35w or 55w light should work..

Does anyone know what type of bulb my 07 has? I always see bulbs called out as the type like a H4M or a 9055LL but I have never found what model designation the bulb is. I always see people post use the PIAA's of Rick Stators.
Thanks!

doesnt anyone think $30 for a bulb is ****in crazy? I even think the $13 they want for stock is outragous. Isnt there like a set of bulbs i can pick up at wal mart for like 2.44 that work? For how short of a life they seem to have i never want to spend that kind of money on bulbs.

imho, you get what you pay for.

shopping around helps tho, online prices are way cheaper than a dealer or store.

hahaha cheap? its called being sensible. Before you go making rash comments and not giving advice you should of asked how much night riding i even do. If you did you would know i only ride at night maybe once a month and because i mostly race harescrambles the bulbs take a ratteling and dont last but maybe 2 to 3 months before just being shaken to ****. So now if you wanna go ahead and spend $30 on a bulb you might get 3 uses out of go ahead but some of us "cheap" people we like to spend our money wisely.

put the good bulbs in before the night rides ;)
