Has anyone tried cutting the screen and baffeling type crap out of the stock air filter cage? Is it even possible? That thing looks restrictive. \
m I was on this board complaining about how slow my 400EX is a few days ago .....so I went and put in a 40 pilot,150 main, drilled a large hole in the interior baffeling of the stock muffler, and put 5 1" holes in the airbox lid. it actually made a noticable difference..... i am happy about the increased power but still need more!!

I'm not sure about the filter. Get a K+N filter and you'll notice a difference. Also get a 14 th front sprocket.

I've done it, and it works. While doing this I also cut one large hole in my airbox lid (almost the size of the lid itself) and cut the small insert out of the stock exhaust end cap, while retaining the spark arrestor. I ran a #152 main with the needle lowered one notch with this setup.

Very noticable difference, well worth the $4 in jets and the hour it took.
