KTM is set to go racing next year with its RC8 R superbike, which is hot off the presses from the EICMA show in Milan. Featuring a V-Twin engine that displaces 1195cc's (that's almost the maximum size allowed for racing against liter-class fours), the liquid cooled engine pumps out 165 horsepower or 180 with the optional race exhaust.

I heard the price tag is $16k+ I love this bike but its probably not as reliable and definitely not as cheap as jap bikes.

Haha.. $16k??? No these bikes msrp at $19995 for the base models and go up from there. I was possibly looking at trading in my 08 Ducati on one in spring after my full carbon fiber conversion, but its still up in the air.

The are tight though in person as well. And when you sit on then, they feel very light and nimble. Also, unlike other sportbikes, the fuel tank is actually a plastic material... crazy!!! It'd be cool to have one though to make my garage 100% KTM! :)

And what exactly is your logic of thinking that the KTM won't be as reliable as a Jap bike? Have you ever had a KTM? Do you have a side by side comparison on reliability between a KTM and Jap bike? I can assure you that KTM is every bit as reliable as a Jap bike, if not more. Just look at sales, Jap bikes are down while KTM is recording record numbers.
