300ex burning alot of oil

i have a 2001 300ex. its burnt oil since i bought it but only alittle bit on the top end. but its gotten alot worse latly i toped off my oil on saturday, rode sunday and tuesday, and i now only have and from the full line it droped at least a third of the distance between full and low. i rode my buddies bike and he took my quad and he rode it light and it smoked everytime he got out of the gas to shift. its still ok at idle unless its cold. whats worn my valve seals or my rings? i ride mid to high end. hardly anny low end unless im hurt. thanks for any ideas guys

the question is since it has been getting worste have you lost power? if you have not lost power then it's more likely the vavle seals. but if you have lost power since it got worst it be worn on your rings area.. hope this helps

Could be alot of things.. Valve seats or seals, rings, fractured piston, valve adjustment, or head gasket
