Since no one makes a 14.1 piston for the pred, what would milling the bottom of the cylinder raise the compression to using 12:1 piston? Would it cause any problems with the timing? Has anyone tried this? I just figured when i freshen up my top end if I would gain anything by going with a 12.1 and milling the cylinder while I had it apart. I want to keep it stock bore/stock stroke.

you can mill the cylinder (most do the head) but it will effect timing....after all is said and done you would need to have cams that are "field ajustable" are have the gears pressed off and on again after youve degreed them to compensate

Do you have any idea what gains if any would be made? Is there enough clearance to mill the head and cyclinder?
