Well, I guess it is about that time to make the life story thread of my son's new DRX just like I did with his KYMCO. I will start to post the pics of the to night. I want to give Gary a big thanks for all the help so far.... i am sure that you will surprise us more in the near future ..

It is great to be here with you guys now... got tired of looking in from the outside... lol I felt lonely down there in the kymco section. The quad is looking great just at the beginning, I am tring to hold out on letting him see it until xmas. I am excited about it... I know he will be when he sees it... I can't wait to see his face when he finds the keys in his stocking. He will know what to do when he does... That is what I did with his Kymco, I put a set of keys in his stocking and he walked around the house looking for something to put the keys in... then he looked outside... it was great. That is a feeling that almost brings tears to your eyes... they are jumping for joy and hugging you because the are so thankful. When we sold his KYMCO I told him that we will have to save up to get another quad. He was disappointed at first then he said that he will just ride his KTM 65 until he get another. Its going to be awsome! There will be a few more things that I am wanting to do to this thing before he sees it.

I am thinking of going with black wheels.... so if anyone need any stock rear wheels and tires plus the front wheels ( no tires) jsut let me know... I will sell cheap!
Rear tires are still flat and square.. just unpackaged them.

I was wondering abotu painting the hubs blue too... damn.. I have been around quads too long.. lol look great .. sound like we have a black and blue DRX club already....:D

Sorry, I never saw the post. I need to get some updated pics of ours. It's had a few things done since the pic I posted. In my pic above, those are the factory wheels that I had powdercoated....the rear left wheel is a replacement wheel I had to put on after Discount tire bent the black one. I've since put on the black pro wheels from Gary.

got the bumper and nerfs mounted.... got the black wheels and the black seat cover in, thanks Gary.. Should have those installed this week... In the next pics, you will notice a 2006 KTM 65sx in the back ground, that bike was stolen this same night of the pics were taken. If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thanks

thanks guys..... my son is pissed... we sold his KYMCO so we could get another quad.. i got him another quad, but hidding it until xmas.. gift from me not santa. He knows that he is getting a DRX, but dont know when... i just keep telling him that we have to save up. During this time, he was ridding the KTM to keep fit and still riding. Now they have stold the KTM, he is pissed and ready to fight. He was so looking forward to racing both in the spring.

Josh is such a great, well rounded 6 year old. I am blessed to have him. He deserves everything that I can do for him. He is the top 1st grade reader in Nash County North Carolina. He has read 76 books so far this year at 2.5 reading level. He actually read more, but that is how many test that he has pasted. He is very smart and loves to work on his quad with his own tools. He also plays basket ball for a local church and last year was his first year. He started off as the clumbsy baller, and by the end of the 8 weeks, he got a trophy for the most improved and got a trophy for the all star player of his team. He is now trying crazy jumps on his Mongoose BMX bike and has done thrown him over two dozen times. lol He loves to fish with live worms in the pond behind the house. I guess I am trying to say is.... he has the right to be upset and should be pissed. I really hate it and wanted to cry when I walked out there and seen that it was missing. All of our hard work gone.

Bike looks sweet. Right now I am selling my boys 2 Lems to get him a 50 DRX. Want to get one so he could do the couple local nationals next year. I was thinking red plastic with black nerf, wheels, and seat.

Well... got the new BABY BACK.....oops... i meant PIGGY BACK ELKAs in yesterday and install them on my lunch along with a OEM DRR black soft shock for the rear... Got a great deal on these babies from GARY at G-FORCE... you guys need to take up the 15% offer before it runs out... saved a butt load... got these brand new for the price that I was gonna pay for some used ones... and the OEM black DRR shock is a lot softer than the 90cc red...

Well, I went and picked my son's DRX up today from my buddy's shop and brought it home to put into hidding. I could not help, but to play with it.... it still needs a few adjustments to the carb, but that is not a problem, kinda got an idea of what it is. It ran pretty good on his practice track and around the yard. Then I had to give it a bath after shooting some roost in the soft muddy dirt... lol Got some outside pics today after the bath... This thing looks great and my son is going to have a fit when he sees it. Thanks G-Force!!! To everyone a Merry Christmas!!!!

i was thinking of that, but my video cam is down and has been down for a year now... wish santa woudl bring me a new one..lol the battery will not last but 30 seconds... and a new one is $65... just been waiting to get another cam that will work with my new laptop....

Well... i went to use my old 3.2mpix cam that also does some video... the batteries went dead on the first 2 pics... and did not get any video... but here is some after the batteries charged a little... then it died again... i was not prepared...lol He is loving it..

Well, took Josh to Cowbranch MX Park today... First time that he had the DRX on a real MX track... Had a few issues today, but he had fun. Found out that he will need long travel... mostly on the rear. He was use to long travel on the KYMCO and could not take the jumps that he did before... The rear was just slamming... He bottomed it out the first two laps then I told him to just take it easy before he messes something up.

The two issues that we had today was the rear number plate would slam down on the rear brake line and push it into the brake disk and almost cut a hole in it. I taped the brake line up and made the number plate slanted, but will need to just slide it back on the grab bar more. Then the exhaust started to come loose and ended up licking so bad and so hot that is burt about 9 inches of the coating off the header and now it is raw metal. I have some High Temp clear coat that I will spray on it tommorrw.

I have added a few pics. Sorry for being so grainy, they were taken with my camera phone. Remember my digital cam quit the day that he got the quad.

He has come a long way! I remember videos you posted of him maybe two years ago jumping his little old blue quad. Now he'll be doubling, and clearing those 30 foot tabletops.

No slowing him down now!

i remember when i cut brandons 50 fenders in 06, and one of the
drr dad's asked me what kind of quad my son was riding and i
told him it's the same as your boys with trimmed fenders :D

we run the same front end as you. the dc LT rear set up with
elka's is the way to go. lots of travel for smoth landings.

Yeah it does look cool...and Josh loves it...
I got the rear (13') Elka shock from QuadJunkies on the way... I would have bought her swingarm too, but funds ran out. So I am gonna try something with the stock swingarm first and see what happens.

The only one that I mentioned to him was the one with Josh sitting on his helmet and his name out beside... he turned around and sent me 3 posters with his own creations...
