I posted this up on a couple other forums, but forgot to post it here. Even though I decided against buying it, it's worth sharing with the members here, since you don't run across something like this very often.
You've heard the story before. Somebody finds a rare, vintage muscle car buried in a barn for years. Or the urban legend of the guy who took a brand new Corvette and built a wall around it, only to be found decades later. It seems nobody can ever document it. With my story, I bring proof. But it's not a car.
A regular customer of mine who knows I'm into quads and bikes, especially Hondas, asks me if I'd be interested in a low mile Honda street bike that has been sitting in a garage for years. He told me that the owner only rode it once and put it away. Of course, I said yes. After asking him about it for six months or so, I figured it was just a bunch of BS. Until last Thursday. I finally got to feast my eyes upon the bike, met the VERY eccentric owner, and got the story behind one of the most incredible finds I've ever stumbled across. He even let me take pictures.
Here was my first view of the bike.

Yes, the odometer reading is correct. 21 original miles.

Here's the rest. It's a 1984 Honda VF700F Interceptor.

I was set on buying it, thinking there would be some real collector value, but after posting it up on the VFR discussion forum, the "experts" on there said there no real value to it. Most said they would pay $500-1000 for it. Unfortunately, the owner wants ALOT more than that for it. In fact he wants what he paid for it new in 1984. If I bought it, it would definitely be a show piece only, I couldn't bear to put miles on it and decrease the value of it. Decisions, decisions.
