What length shock do you need?

I have a couple questions about your mini racers'

Did you put a CRF250 into your 250X Laeger frame?

If so, did you need to do any fabricating and cutting on the frame or just create new motor mounts?

If you made new motor mounts would it be possible to duplicate them so that I could just buy a motor and use the mounts on my frame? I have 2 250X frames. One I was going to convert to a Z400 but I'm not sure it will fit. I was thinking I might try a CRF cause it's got just as much power as a 300ex in stock form.

Also, what pipe did you use?

i need a 18.5 inch shock no link
no i did not put a crf motor in the laeger 250x frame it has a stock 300ex motor in it now.
the lonestar framed bike was a true lonestar crf 450 quad that i put a crf250r motor in.
the houser framed bike is a true crf450 houser quad that i put a crf250r motor in.
if you are converting a crf450 framed hybrid to a crf250 r or x motor it is pretty simple. machine a couple of bushings for the pivot bolt and a new head stay lower mount is easy also. but putting i crf250 motor in a stock 250x or 300ex frame is a little more difficult so that is why i went with the crf450 framed hybrid conversion plus i can still put the crf450 motor back in the if i choose to.

Hey whats up? Is the houser chassis and swingarm original houser crf? If so it should use a 17-17.5 rear shock. I've got a couple sets of both elkas and axis shocks here built for the houser chassis and all of the rears are in the 17 range. I think LSR used the 18-18.5 setup though.

Thank you

Look into the ohlins off of a cannondale. They are really good shocks, designed for a no link rear end and are cheap on ebay.

jrspawn is correct on those specs. It doesn't matter which one you get though. I'm pretty sure they have the same stroke. If its over 17.5 shorten the body.
