I just bought a WISECO 87 mm 11:1 compression piston with cometic gaskets, and I was wondering what I need to do to get it to true 11:1 or as close as I can.

The Weisco is about 9:1 comp I think. You would need thin gaskets or a decked cylinder.

To find out all you need to know might wanna go read the thread 'Decking the cylinder' its a huge thread but worth it.

From what I read that is only with the 440 pistons though, right? That is what I was told before I bought the piston. It was said that it will be close to 11:1, but not close. I started reading the Decking the Cylinder thread, but it was all about the 440 pistons.

From what I can remember, there was only an issue with the Wiseco 440's (89.0 mm), but it wouldn't hurt to check any of them, no matter what brand.

Gojk,
I have that piston in my bike. I did all of the math while putting it together, and the compression comes in at just under 11:1 (10.92:1 or something like that, can't remember exactly). If you choose to run an XR head gasket (0.025"), you should be at just a hair over 11:1. I stayed on the low side so I could get away with pump gas a little easier (but I still need race gas for the dunes, etc.) The compression error seems to only affect the Wiseco 89mm piston, which is a flat top (correct me if I'm wrong). The 87mm is domed.

That is good, that is what I was hoping to hear. Thanks for the good news.
