my chain snapped today and when it did it ended up breaking the carrier all up and i was looking at replacing it and i was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on an aftermarket carrier and also a new case saver because it took that out in the process as well.
also my axle looks to be grooved not sure it it si gonna be too abd to use still or not will try to post some pics of it asap

you can get a lonestar carrier of off ebay for about 150. thats what i have on my 400 and they hold up good

I got a RAD dual row carrier and it has done well.

^^ wat he said, rads are the best imo, grese zerk on the outside and you can get one on ebay for $129

the factory OEM carrier is still my choice overall. Ive had way better luck after you drill and tap for a zerk.

Re-build with factory bearings. remember to remove the inner seals so that grease can get to the bearings and pack them well before you install.

check ebay for a good used one and rebuild it for $50

ok so here's the pics of the axle now that i got it out and cleaned up a little bit let me know what you guys think if it is too far grooved or whatnot to be reused (sorry not the greatest pics but all i got for a camera at the moment is my iphone)

ya mine was pretty haggard to, just get some sand paper and smooth it out, it should be ok, but its hard to tell with the pics...

that surface rides on the seal. No worries. sand her down and run it.

make sure you have a carrier that is grease-able and drill holes all the way thru the center tube so that grease can coat your axle as well. remove the inner seals and full her up.

Unless you sit in waist deep water you wont have any problems.

My sugestion is to replace your chain if it is bent... that way you dont have this problem...oh and dont ride on bad bearings...and last but not least get that thing fixed so we can go riding...:D
