hey,
the guy i bought my 400 from bent the left rear rim. and i am in the process of finding another. i don't want 2 new just one to get rid of the wobbaling. the rim says the size is 9x8 and i am assuming that that is factory. i'm having a little bit of trouble finding a rim that size. i did find a good chance to get some 10X8's, brand new, for cheap. and i was wondering what the extra inch would do to the Quad: like my gearing, accleration, tires, etc. Or any good adivce as two where i could find a good rim to match up to my good one.

i really appricate any input anyone can give me. thanks in advance.

motosport.com has a OEm section that tells you all stock part sizes. I would start there to make sure you have correct rim size.

Stock rear are 9"
Fronts are 10"

Just look on eBay. Type in: 400EX Front Wheel

I'm curious, does rim size really make that much of a difference? I'm new to riding, and recently bought some rear paddles with 10" rims. Weather has been too crappy to go riding, so not sure what the difference will be.

i've been told 8" rears are stronger than their 9 and 10" counterparts. also heard having more sidewall on your paddles improves hookup since it can flex.

if you have 9s now and you buy 10s you will have to get new tires also. Personally i think 10s look cool in the rear.

the tire will also list the rim size on it...info only. That way you can make sure you are replacing it with the right size
