JUST INSTALLED MY PRO TAPER TRAVIS PASTRANA FMX BEND BARS TODAY, AND IN MY OPINION THEY SHOULD OF CALLED THEM THE "PERFECT QUAD BARS". THIS BEND IS SIMILAR TO THE STOCK 400EX BEND BUT SO MUCH BETTER, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SWEPT BACK AS FAR ALLOWING FOR MORE LEG ROOM IN TIGHT TURNS, AND ARE ONLY SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN STOCK WHEN COMBINED WITH THE 3/4" HEIGHT ADDED BY THE 1 1/8 CLAMPS. AND THEY ELIMINATE THAT UGLY "UTILITY BAR" LOOK OF THE STOCKERS./

TRY A SET-YOU'LL PROBABLY LIKE THEM!:cool::D

I LIKED THE PASTRNA FMX BEND BECAUSE I NEEDED SOMETHING NEARLY AS HIGH AS STOCK TO CLEAR MY KNEES(I'M 6'2"WITH LONG LEGS) AND THERE'S NOT MANY BENDS THAT HIGH THAT DON'T LOOK LIKE THEY ARE CUT DOWN APE HANGER BARS.:D AND I SAW THAT PRO TAPER AD COMPARING THEM TO OTHER BRANDS OF BARS.
JUST FIGURED I'D SHARE THIS FOR THE BENIFIT OF OTHER TALL RIDERS. MANY BENDS-MANY NEEDS-THESE JUST WORK FOR ME.:)

Thanks for your opinion. I just bought and mounted the FMX bend (Pastrana's) I was looking for bars about an inch higher. I got the http://www.roxspeedfx.com/bar_riser.cfm two-inch risers. I think I’m 1 to 1.25 inches higher. Looks great but I’ll have to take it out & let ya know. I haven’t finished mounting all the levers yet because it looks tight with the Pro Taper bar pad, so I’m removing my parking brake/cable and trying to make some more slack.

Do you know what the rise & sweep are on the stock bars???. I don’t want to replace my cables.

I run Pro Taper CR Low's. I really like these bars because they're so low, and they help keep my butt off the seat. I have a terrible habit(from utility days) of sitting down on the track, and I've found that the lower bars help keep me on my feet. Anybody else notice this? Or am I strange?? :huh

I just got a set of Tag T-2 bars and i think they are awesomw. I have heard that they bend easier in comparison to other fat bars but they look sweet and they feel very comfortable.

I installed mine with the tusk brand adaptors that gove it 3/4" of rise. combined with that bar bend I think I am only about 1/4" lower than stock but with alot less sweep. your risers might cause some problems with your controls, but, if you need the height then you may need some modifications. Let me know how it works out.:)

I'm not really sure. I ordered them from rockymountain and they only offered on type for my quad. They might have offered they high bend but i don't remember. Anywase I didn't reamise how good they were until i sat on my friend's who has stock bars still.

i think i have doug henry pro tapers from my 99 yz on my ride. there are the straightest bar you can buy from pro taper for mx bikes. i then got a +1+1 stem and it is perfect now. i hate bars that have a pull back to them, these keep me up front on the bike and give me tons of leverage in the turns and in the air. the stem got them off my knees too.

I run the Tag T-2's from the Moto. Tag calls them "CR bend" but my box didn't say HI or LO on it. They're definitely much lower than stockers and a bit wider too.

Does anyone know if you run 7/8 bars if you absolutely have to use the crossbar. I just like the look without but I am sure that it adds strength.

i plan on orderin Travis Spader Tag Bars, does anybody else have these bars on their quad??

if so how do u like them, cause i was readin the stats about them and there definately lower then stock bars and lil wider

For 7/8 bars I am all about any bar where the cross bar touches the mounting bar or almost touches.

And 1 1/8 bar I run Cr low or Cr High.

Can somone post pics of Cr low and Cr high next to each other so everyone can see the diff. Which isn't much.

I run Moose CR-Hi bend bars. I can't justify running aluminum bars with as often as I crash. I'd be broke in no time where as the moose bars run about $16 a piece :D

i like my renthals. i think they are the cr low bend. they came on the quad when i bought it but they are pretty low so i'm guessin they are the low bend.

Cant pass on them bars huh :)

Well I was thinking the CR bend renthals were just a little to low and though I do like the sweep and whatever but until I talk myself into spending 300.00 for a new +1 or 2 stem its just keeping too much of the rider weight forward, so I got some new ones under the xmas tree. I am not sure what bend they are but look to be just a little shorter than the stockers (she removed the tag cause it had the price on it LOL).

Do any of you guys know of bars that are just an inch or so taller than the cr bends? maybe with a little more rear sweep.

These new ones look to high for my taste but I should get to ride tomorrow so will see what happens then.

i plan on gettin my tag cr bars. also a new stem.

should i get standard lenth for stem and cr high bars

or +1 stem lenth and cr low bars?

im 5 foot 10. if that has anything to do with it...

01-05-2003, 07:36 PM
If I ever talk myself into replacing the perfectly good stk steering stem with a 300.00 new one I was thinking +1 stem w/antivibe mount and Tag T2 CR high bends.

i run tag x5 quad bends i like them a little high i think though, i like the cr's better

01-06-2003, 07:43 PM
Funny how much those x5 look like the 15.00 answers I had put on my warrior :)

Any chance you still have and want to get rid of the head lights and brackets for your warrior?

I gotta say I love my Pro Taper's they are awesome. They feel like I almost don't need an anti-vibe stem. I remember reading a shootout awhile back and they were rated as the strongest bar, so I wouldn't worry too much about being an aluminum bar.

I bought MSR Dominator atv hi bend. I love them and they are cheap. I got them for about $35. They are wider than stock and about the same height. I run tall bars b/c I stand up a lot and I am too lazy to bend over all the time :o :D They are pretty strong for being so cheap. I have rolled several times and they never bent.

Renthal 250r bend is by far the best!!!

anything 250r bend is nice, not to wide, the stockers felt like chopper bars :p

hey does any of the bars your guys are talkin about have any vibration to them? Cause that is the reason why i still have stock bars cause they don't vibrate at all....

I have renthal cr low bend and i love the way they feel , jmo

01-19-2003, 09:10 PM
The 250r or trx bend is a little higher with more sweep than the 400ex bend, at least by renthals specs.

i have tag X5 cr high bends and there pretty much amazing

01-20-2003, 07:08 PM
Does anyone know the specs on the cr dbl hi ?

I was wanting something right between the cr hi and 4ooex bend.

What I found was that the cr hi is a little to low for the stock stem but seems it should be almost perfect with a +1 or +2 stem.
