i am in need of new pads on my 400ex. i am looking for a pad that wears a little longer than stock but stops just as good if not better. i never ride in sand or creeks. my friend has the severe duty ebc and not only are they durable but they work better than stock ones. any input would be great. thanks

If you are having problems burning up brake pads then you might want to check out the brake rotor itself.uneven rotor surface or warpage will result in very quick brake pad wear .Also you will want to check caliper pin slides, bushings, seals in the caliper itself.I use silicone brake paste from 3m (great stuff).I also agree that EBC S/V brake pads are a very good general purpose brake pad. They are a little hard on the rotors but stop nice and last fairly long. The stock pad were burning up on me in one day in wet and muddy conditions -Im a trail rider forever-

get some ebc severe duty pads, theyre 25 bucks, but work better and longer. Mine lasted a month or so when i rode everyday, and they were strong enough to smoke the tires on the street when i wasnt careful.
