Well here is the story I picked up a 440 today from a kid approx. 7 hours away I knew the quad did not start he was having electrical problems with it and told me when he tried to start it the terminal on the battery melted and POPPED off!! Idk exactly what he meant but I figured i would be able to figure it out.... I got the quad home and hooked up all of the wires properly it is a stock wiring harness.... when I hooked up the red wire to the starter relay I heard a loud pop and smoke started coming from the ignition coil.... A LOT of smoke... I quickly unhooked the battery and checked the coil which was melted and looked cracked!!! I am wondering if it was a bad coil or if there is other problems any help is appreciated.... thanks!!
