Most people put their tree up after Thanksgiving, but not us, no way. Last year, it was the day after Halloween, this year she's a few days late.

Anybody else's family crazy about all things Christmas?

It went up yesterday, it's getting decorated today.

I do miss the smell of a real Christmas tree and picking the right one at the place its an experience thats fun. But as far as cleaning and stuff I think the fake tree we have looks like a real tree and it doesnt drop needles or need water. Its also hard to find 12ft Christmas tree's. Mine will go up after Thanksgiving

Our tradition is the Friday after Thanksgiving. We put on the Christmas music and then start the process of trying to straighten out the fake tree. Up until a few years ago we always used a real tree but I would end up having to buy a new vacuum every January so we made the switch:)

My mom is one of those people that like to carry on tradition, her family always got a real one, so we have to also, plus shes pretty hard headed. As for sleep goes, i have night time a.d.d, my mind switches thoughts constantly as i try to sleep. :p

We bought a fake tree from Costco a few years back ... and it looked really good in the store . I didn't seem too big or too wide ...... well what a fricken shock when we got it home . I tree takes up almost half the living room . Sure is deceiving when a tree is set up in a store with plenty of room .

That's why I said no tree until December 1st . :p

Actually, they just came out with this really cool new gadget to help you figure out stuff like that, so you know exactly how much room you have, and how big the items are that you're going to place in that space. It's really neat!

Dude .... I'm on the metric system .. I don't know feet and inches. :p ;)

The box says ... 6 foot base.... I was thinking " Hell that ain't that wide " .... until I had to move the whole TV and wall unit over just to fit the darn thing in the corner.

Another thing I've come to realize .... the fake tree NEVER fits back in the box that it originally came in. We closed up the tree and stuffed it in the box last year ... it still barely made it's way down the hallway and into the basement.

So what you're telling me is, if the box said "2 meter base" you wouldn't have had to move your TV?

That's right !!!! ;) ;)

You know , I told the girlfriend " Why don't we get one of those table top 2 foot high trees " .... she called me a scrooge. LOL

I wish I had a picture of our tree a few years back when we spent Christmas at my parents cottage. Christmas Eve my mom and girlfriend said " Why don't you go get a tree" . I said sure .... ya know it's only -40 outside .... so I went out into the front yard and cut down a little pine tree. It looked nice and full sitting out there with the snow on it . When I brought it back and shook the snow off it was a Charlie Brown tree. Mom and Mel looked at and me said " You're kidding right? " I Said " Nope ...... this is what you're getting ... it's -40 out ... I ain't trekking through 3 feet of snow at 8PM to find another tree " .

I had the best damn Charlie Brown tree ever. We even stuck it in a water jug to keep it standing upright.
