I rode my airboxless 87lt250r through water and it died. The spark is fine.i Pulled the carb and it is fine as well. The only way 2 start is to pop it and runs real rough. I image I got some water in the engine. Anyone know how to rectify this?

I would change the oil....then go from there

If you got water in the cylinder it would have hydrolocked. And if you got any into the bottom end I wouldn't think it would make it run rough or only startable like that. Sounds to me like it's in the fuel system. I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time.

It's a 2 stroke. So if there is water in the bottom end you are going to get steam/vapor/mist in the mix as the engine runs.

I'd flush out the motor and make sure there's no water sitting in the expansion chamber of the exhaust.

BWAmos, flush meaning change the oil I assume & excuse my ignorance but where is the expansion chamber & what purpose does it serve?

Didn't even pay attention that it was a 2stroke.

It's the fat part of your pipe near the front.

I didn't pay attention to the fact that you were talking about a 2-stroke.
