Ok, i have a 2000 400ex the engine is bone stock and never touched,... i want to do a full rebuild, what do you recommend? I am looking for POWER!!! i want torque, i am a woods racer. From personal experience what is best? budget of $500

slip-on exhaust, K&N or UNI filter, Outerwears, re-jet, Sparks Advance key, and drop one tooth on the primary sproket.
That will eat up your $500 budget pretty close,...
will give you a reasonable increase in power, and your torque will be rather impressive on a stock bore bike.

oops, didnt see that you had some of those things in your sig.,
so just add the Sparks key, sprocket, and maybe add a cam to the mix, and you should be happy with it, as well as it will still be a very dependable and durable machine.

I was thinking of boring it over a few? is that a good idea? What do i need for that?

Last winter I bored mine to a 406 (next size over stock) and put in an 11:1 piston with a hotcam stage 2. The power increase was very noticable and worthwhile. (I also run no lid and an outerwear prefilter). Hope this helps.

Power.. hmmm..
The engine rebuild would probally take you to your limmit, or close to it. So, maybe drop a sprocket tooth, 406/416 bore kit, or little stuff you want.
