I have been flip flopping around with weather or not to finish my r build i started several years ago, and have not done much with. It's all stock for the most part just got an old pipe on it. I have been trying to price the parts i want, and was wondering about the full flight a-arm dose any one run them? are they worth the money or should i just try to find some more brand name a-arms. Any help is appreciated.

My friend got full-flight a-arms on his 400ex and dont have any problems with them. I got american star a-arms on my 400ex and I had them for 5 years now and replaced the heim joints once. I love them

I was at one time considering the full flight arms too. Another brand which can only be found on EBAY by searching store names is Wicked Products.

These look like they are very high quality as far as detail and finish. Also last week when I was looking at them they were on sale for $399. I was set on buying these until I came across another good deal on some chrome arms.

I have the Wicked +3 A arms on my 87' R and I'm not a big fan of them. They fit good, but are not a true + 3", more like 2 1/2". Also, the ball joints sit at a upward angle and not level, causing them to bind when bottomed. Ball joints do not have zerk fittings.

Good to know! That's probably one of the problems with the product lines which seem to be made in a basement, there isn't really much actual engineering put into them.

I'll probably get killed for this, given the history BUT, you could look into BURGARD Aarms. They are pretty well priced and have a great quality. Customer service isn't the greatest, but I'm fortunate to live close. I do believe you can buy them through other distributors though.

look into jd performance. jdperformance.net if you call him directly he will hook you up on a set. excellent product. also im pretty sure laegers is having a deal right now. i personally would check out those before any of the others mentioned. also smcfabrication.com. another good product.

i think burgard is turning it around...a bunch of guys on quadracerhq, bought products from izzy lately and they all got them in a week or two....

thanks for the input. I just wanted to know if my first instinct abut the full flight arms was right about them being junk. I guess its just me being a little cheep. I checked out jd performance but didnt see a listing for the r. Do they still make them but don't list them on line any more? cause i will probably go with the jd or the burgard a-arms if i cant find a deal on some used ones.

yea jd still makes them for the r. they will look similar to the 400ex. like i said give dave a call and tell him you are short on money and he will do whatever he can to hook it up. he is one of the greatest guys in the industry in my opinion. im not sure but last i heard burgard had many troubles with their ball joints. thats what turned me off from them. but they have been around for some time and could have changed.

Thanks for the info i really like the jd equipment, but in the last few years it kind of got out of my price range. Just to give you an idea when i got my r, the price for there a-arms were like 350 or 375. I got the bike running, and in the procese blew my whole budget on rebuilding the engine and tranny. Now i got the bug to build a race quad again so you will probably see me on here alot in the future.

I didnt like the Fullflights at all, they were about as long as my stock a-arms when they are suppose to be +2.

Ive heard mixed things about the ebay a-arms(american star, wicked products, fullflight ect.) Ive heard the horror stories of them snapping at inoppourtune times and such. Personally I would try and find a good used set of name brand A-arms first. Ebay seems to constantly be littered with good used R parts.
