Hey I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. I just bought a 2003 Honda 400ex with a weak battery but put the battery on my trickle charge. Here some pictures. These pictures when the guy put it up for sale I can't find my digital camera at the moment.

I have a question what do I need to do before I perform the Choke removal tutorial? Cause I spent 5 hours messing with the choke to keep the 4 wheeler at idle and not cut out so soon.

well, welcome to the site! and i think that your after the choke removal for the wrong reasons... if you want to properly set up your carb for removal, youll need a 42 pilot jet and bump up the main 1 or 2 sizes. here is how to do it.

http://www.atvriders.com/articles/choke400ex.html

removing the choke is slightly performance oriented, you gain slight throttle response and a little more hp. but if its cutting out anywhere in the throttle then a jet is clogged somehwere or you might need to adjust the fuel screw. tell us some details and plenty of us will jump in and help with all the details you need.

its been 3 hours. this is a very quick forum, and 3 hours is not a big deal. throw a 42 pilot jet in it, pump the throttle 2 or 3 times and start it. if it just won't crank, get a new battery. and after that, chill.

I have a new battery but I was able to charge the old one cause the new one battery got 70 bucks. So I charged old one so I can return old one if needed.

God I hate this already Took me 5 hours to get it to crank. Once I get the new battery charged and put it on and still doesn't crank over I'm selling it Can't stand this I can never have fun on with the stuff I buy.

I'm not sure I was using weak battery on this I put acid in the new one and charging it right now I'll use the new battery tomorrow and see what problems I get. Also May I get a choke digram that ia labeled like if it is all the way up or almost horizontal the choke is off or full? Something like that.

ok this is weird I charged the new battery and I left it on for 10 hours I used a volt meter and got 11.5 volts so I stuck it on the bike and when I turn it over the neutral light won't come on and it is in neutral since I just rolled it out of my garage but it still won't start right away I guess i still need to mess with it to get it started in the cold.

Will it crank at all? Try cranking it with the clutch pulled in. In order for anyone on here to help you with what is going you need to give us the info.

Is it cranking at all?

If so, does it try to start at all?

Quick things to verify, fuel (its on and good/not old), the kill switch isn't flipped over, is it getting spark?
